“What Lifts You” by Kelsey Montague

Famed artist Kelsey Montague, the woman behind Nashville’s popular wings mural, recently installed her first public mural in Atlanta right here at Atlantic Station! The 30 by 20 foot piece, which features a large tree and interactive swing with four hidden elements, is located on the wall of Azotea Cantina near Atlantic Green.

The hidden elements are all related to our beautiful city and state. Look for a heart, representing Atlantic Station’s position in the heart of Atlanta, a smokestack to honor the neighborhood’s deep history as the former Atlantic Steel Mill site, the Atlantic Station skyline and a Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly, the official butterfly of Georgia.

Montague’s mural is the latest installment in our ongoing public art initiative, which focuses on bringing innovative and interactive art to Atlantic Station.

“With Love” by Thomas Turner

Local artist Thomas Turner sums up his inspiration for his stunning mural in a few well-chosen words: “As a true Atlantan, I wanted to pay homage to a place that has meant so much to me, and Atlantic Station is an integral part of that.”

The piece prominently features a falcon, which represent the city. The tree growing out of its back represents the transformative nature of Atlantic Station. Look closely in the blue background, and you’ll spot the Atlanta skyline.

See Turner’s massive mural, which is more than 175 feet wide by 40 feet tall, while driving southbound on the downtown connector. The piece is located on the east side of Atlantic Station’s main parking garage and can also be seen from the ground.

Parking Garage Art by Elaine Stephenson

Atlanta muralist Elaine Stephenson designed this eye-popping parking garage mural to bring to brightness and color to an otherwise drab space. Stephenson relished the opportunity to go big and bold with the colors, which imbue immediate good vibes for all that enter or exit the lot!

Atlantic Green

Atlantic Green’s recent refresh included several structural art pieces, like the Atlantic Station sign pictured above, that make the space more Instagrammable than ever. We even added our very own Tiny Door, which was designed and installed by iconic Atlanta artist Karen Anderson, to the new Green space. We decorate the door for holidays like Halloween, so stop by often to check out the ever-changing miniature piece of art!

Finally, don’t miss the Green’s color-changing water fountain, which varies based on the time of year, making it a versatile backdrop for photos. The fountain also makes for a pretty epic reflection shot at sunset, as captured by @seand67, below.
