Here’s How to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Atlanta

Can you believe we’re nearly halfway through summer? To celebrate, we put together our ideal itinerary for the Fourth of July in Atlanta. Whether you’re a fireworks fanatic or are looking to drink lots of red white and brews, we’ve got you covered.

Morning

Wake up bright and early and cheer on the Peachtree Road Race runners! This popular event attracts 60,000 runners each year, making it the world’s largest 10K road race.

Stake out a shady spot on the race route and don’t forget to bring a few extra water bottles to toss to tired participants! If you’re able, consider setting up a sprinkler that hits the route—you’ll make lots of overheated runners very happy.

Atlantic Station is conveniently located near the final mile of the race route and offers two hours of free parking. When you’re done cheering, we recommend grabbing brunch at Allora. Order a coffee and the Creole Benedict–you won’t regret it.

Afternoon

Take shelter from the heat by spending your afternoon bowling. Bowlero mixes retro arcade style with modern fun to take bowling to the next level! Plus, its menu of heavy apps and beverages doesn’t disappoint. It’s the perfect place to spend a few leisurely hours with family or friends.

Afterward, when the sun has started to sink in the sky, ask our Five-Star Concierge team to set up a picnic with lawn and board games on Atlantic Green. No matter the age range of your group, everyone will enjoy some friendly competition playing jumbo checkers, Ladder Ball, bag toss and more!

Finally, wrap up the afternoon with happy hour at Yard House. Choose from more than 100 beers on tap, including many local selections.

Evening

Grab dinner at Azotea Cantina. The restaurant’s modern, Mexico City-inspired menu features dishes like the Tostada De Ahi Tuna, a toasted tortilla topped with spicy tuna that’s well-suited for the summertime heat. Be sure to snag seats on the rooftop so you can catch the sunset!

After dinner, stay put for a nightcap or migrate to one of Atlanta’s many fireworks shows. There are 14 confirmed fireworks displays for 2022—and counting!—between July 1 and July 4. Choose the show that best suits your family’s preferences!

No matter how or where you celebrate, Atlantic Station wishes you a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend!
