Atlantic Station Gives Back: Our Year in Review

When we kicked off Atlantic Station Gives Back, our ongoing initiative focused on supporting and serving the Atlanta community through meaningful activations and philanthropic campaigns, we had no idea how much support the community would need in the coming years. But building up our community is part of Atlantic Station’s mission. As a gathering place for Atlantans for over 15 years, we’re more committed than ever to serving our guests, tenants and residents, day in and day out.

Community Partnerships

Donating a vacant retail space to artist-in-residence Tiny Doors ATL was a no-brainer—an easy way for us to support community members doing great work!

Karen Anderson Singer of Tiny Doors ATL has been a wonderful partner over the past two years and recently installed a brand-new Tiny Door at stairwell 5 (check it out if you haven’t already!). We are ardent supporters of the arts, and Anderson Singer’s mission to inspire wonder is a perfect fit for our organization. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Anderson Singer in 2022.

We’ve supported several other local artists throughout the year by commissioning original works through our Public Art Initiative. Learn more about the program here.

We’ve also donated space to several pop-up shops and events, including H&M’s Buy From a Black Woman. This unique shopping experience spotlighted a dozen Black female business owners across digital channels and in front of Atlantic Station’s guests.

Black History Month

Last February, we kicked off a digital campaign showcasing Black-owned businesses in the Atlantic Station community. We shared the stories of several businesses on our social media channels, providing them with a platform to promote their organizations to our loyal followers. See a few examples with Dr. Taliaferro of Atlanta Dermatology & Aesthetics and Corey & Kiara of atl kula below.

Lunar New Year

Celebrating the diverse cultures of our residents, tenants and guests is integral to Atlantic Station’s mission. We are proud to present a beautiful Lunar New Year celebration each winter, complete with eye-catching décor and community partnerships.

Last year, we donated $1 for each of the 440 red lanterns strung up in Atlantic Green to Stop AAPI Hate. We look forward to supporting this cause again in 2022.

Pride Month

Nobody does Pride Month like Atlanta! We believe that love is love, no matter what.

Last June, we produced unique Pride Month koozies and distributed them at our Five-Star Concierge. For every koozie that was claimed, we donated $1 to Lost N Found Youth.

Station Shout-Outs

Every hero deserves to be celebrated. We love to highlight local do-gooders, from front-line workers to nurses and teachers, on our Instagram account so others can celebrate their sacrifices and accomplishments along with us! Learn more about Station Shout-Outs here or message @AtlanticStation with your shout-out.

Looking Ahead

Next year, we are looking forward to recognizing Mental Health Awareness month in May. Stay tuned for resources and special partnerships that promote the normalization of mental health conversations and the act of seeking assistance.

We are always looking for new ways to support our Atlanta community. Please reach out to asmanagementoffice@hines.com with suggestions for how we can make Atlantic Station Gives Back even better in the new year!
