929 DAVE FM (WZGC / 92.9 FM) and MX Energy present Atlanta’s first Rock for Roots Fest – a free, all ages outdoor event at Atlantic Station, featuring live music performances from Atlanta-native Shawn Mullins, emerging bands Alpha Rev and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and the new project by music legend Chrissie Hynde, JP Chrissie and the Fairground Boys. In addition, the event spotlights local groups, businesses and organizations rooted in the community and seeking to address environmental responsibility.

Among the event activities, DAVE FM and MX Energy are hosting an Environmental Marketplace, creating a Kids Zone, offering free Wi-Fi, and registering attendees for the chance to win a trip to attend Farm Aid 25 in Milwaukee, WI, featuring Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews.

DAVE FM will transform the lower parking lot of Atlantic Station into Atlanta’s largest temporary “park” by laying sod over 20,000 square feet (approximately half of a football field). Concluding the event the sod will be offered to the public for personal use, and sod provider Patten Seed Company will donate an additional 20,000 square feet of fresh sod to Park Pride Atlanta - a non-profit organization dedicated to improving Atlanta’s park system. September 19: Atlanta 2-Day Walk For Breast Cancer

The Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer will have a pit stop/rest station set up around the Commons Lake in Atlantic Station on Sunday, September 20. The event area will open around 7:30am and will last through 11:00am for walkers that make their way across the 17th Street bridge.
