July 4: Millennium Gate – GRAND OPENING
The National Monuments Foundation opens Atlanta’s 72-foot tall monumental gateway, called the Millennium Gate on July 4th. The $20 million monument is the largest classical work of art to be built in the United States since the construction of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C., and the second monument to be built in Atlanta by this team, which previously built the Prince of Wales's Monument to the Olympic Games at Pershing Point. The Atlantic Station Market is an “Open-Air” market showcasing local artisans, antiques, handcrafted items and unique vendors. The outdoor festival-style market hosts up to 100 merchants offering unique items, edibles and more. Market hours are 2pm-9pm on Saturday, and 12pm-7pm on Sunday. There is no admission, so come browse and enjoy this unique and unusual environment! July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30: Mommy + Me “Station Stroll”
Atlantic Station is pleased to announce a new weekly program - the Station Stroll - for in-town moms, dads, and caregivers. Every Wednesday, moms and their children in strollers are invited to meet at Central Park for a one-mile walk through Atlantic Station. Socializing begins at 9:30am and the stroll begins at 10:00am. Most retailers open at 10:00am on weekdays so shopping and dining are a great option after (or during!) the stroll. Join us for a morning out and a fun opportunity to meet other in-town moms and their babies! Reserved, mom-friendly parking is available directly below Central Park. Mommy + Me is weather permitting.
